Yageo posted year-over-year and month-over-month revenue growth in August, extending its streak of record monthly highs to a sixth straight month. The passive components maker said strong AI-related demand and resilient demand in Asia helped offset holiday effects in Europe and the US.
Standard and special products both grew steadily, while demand across product applications also rose modestly. Yageo said the electronics components industry is undergoing a structural shift as AI market demand continues to expand, with applications spanning AI servers, storage devices, power supplies and switches driving stronger shipments of tantalum capacitors, MLCCs, resistors, aluminum capacitors and film capacitors.
The company previously said AI-related revenue accounted for 16% in the second quarter of 2026, up rapidly as AI drove demand for computing and enterprise systems. It added that the industrial market has grown for six consecutive quarters, consumer demand remained strong, and the automotive market was gradually recovering, pushing its book-to-bill ratio to 2.2 in June.
Yageo also said it launched a new round of price negotiations for its capacitor product line starting July 1 to offset rising raw material costs and mounting margin pressure. The move covers not only distributors but also direct EMS/OEM customers, with the effects expected to appear gradually in the third and fourth quarters and be reflected in revenue and profitability.
Yageo's consolidated revenue in August reached NT$16.332 billion (approx. US$520 million), up 1.2% month-over-month and 51.8% year-over-year, setting another all-time monthly high. In US dollar terms, August revenue rose 1.7% from the previous month and 43.4% from a year earlier.
For January through August 2026, revenue totaled NT$115.085 billion, up 34.9% year-over-year. In US dollar terms, cumulative revenue for the first eight months of the year rose 33.2% year-over-year.
