Gartner: Global Semiconductor Revenue to Reach US$1.56 Trillion in 2026, with Memory Accounting for 54% of Total Revenue

Gartner's latest forecast shows that "global semiconductor revenue is expected to reach US$1.555 trillion in 2026, up 92% from US$809 billion in 2025, and is projected to increase further to US$1.94 trillion in 2027."

According to Gartner, "continued investment in AI infrastructure and a stronger-than-expected rise in memory prices" are the primary drivers of the semiconductor market's rapid growth this year. Memory is expected to be the largest contributor, with revenue projected to reach "US$837.3 billion in 2026, accounting for 54% of total global semiconductor revenue", compared with 27% in 2025. In 2027, memory revenue is expected to surpass "US$1 trillion, reaching US$1.076 trillion".

At the segment level, Gartner forecasts that "DRAM revenue will grow 246.6% year over year in 2026, while NAND flash revenue will increase 371.9%." Although additional capacity is expected to come online in 2027, the memory market is likely to remain relatively tight as AI infrastructure deployment continues to expand, storage capacity per AI server increases, and demand for HBM remains strong.

Beyond memory, "AI is also driving growth across CPUs, networking chips, power management, analog semiconductors, optical interconnects, and other segments." Gartner expects revenue from the non-memory semiconductor market to increase from "US$589 billion in 2025 to US$717.9 billion in 2026, representing 21.9% year-over-year growth, and to reach US$864.4 billion in 2027."

Gartner also projects that "semiconductor revenue associated with AI data centers will account for 36.5% of the global semiconductor market in 2026 and rise to more than 53% by 2030." This highlights the continued impact of AI infrastructure on the global semiconductor demand landscape and the structural transformation of the industry.
